I am the second owner of this mint condition polychrome finish rare guitar. The reason it is already rare is it's serial number 2 from the National company in California. A coworker of mine bought this new in Nashville but never played it. I bought it from him and although i did play ragtime and blues mainly fingerstyle guitar on it haven't played her in a few years now. It has been kept in my humidity temp controlled room ever since. Action is low for fingerstyle playing but can be raised of course for slide playing which most people like Catfish Keith love for the polychrome steel Nationals. It has a unique tone rich and can growl. I have some health issues, parkinsons and shake alot. I can still play a normal guitar but this one being quite heavy and a pretty big neck is difficult for me. Oh, i called National back in 1997 or shortly after i bought the guitar to find out more. They told me number 1 of this battleship gray color was hanging in their office and that they only made 50 of this run as it was a difficult color to make. It matches my rickenbacker Ns perfectly and i was in the Navy so obviously love the color. Anyway, i was told it will always be a rare guitar being number 2 of 50. Anyway, it's for trade only. Interested in a National square neck either vintage or newer one. If you have one to trade let me know. I am willing to make up the difference in value with some cash depending on the value of your guitar. I don't expect one thats 90 years old to be mint condition and am a player not a collector so i may still trade even if your guitar has someones initials carved in it lol.
