I'll be living in Nashville by the first of the year and would like some hands-on, in-person instruction. I'm looking for a great teacher, rather than an amazing player. Brent Mason is a great guitar player, but comes up a little short in the teaching department, for instance, having seen a few of his videos. I'm a little past beginner, but wouldn't say I'm intermediate. I have a good foundation in theory, can make most all the chords, know how they work. I can even fat finger my way through a major scale OK. I'm playing a little dobro too which I've found translates well to playing steel, that is, using the bar instead of the pedals.
I'd really like to be able to learn how to accompany. That is, given a lead sheet, find the right part for any given song. Whatever it takes to get there. I'm less interested in playing leads, but that would be great to pick up along the way. It could only help.
I'm not sure where I'll land exactly yet...I'll know more in a few weeks, but I'd be willing to travel a bit in the area for the right instructor. Thanks! _________________ GFI Expo S-10 3x5
