I wrote this tune tonight and named it The Greasy Rag because of the ragtime feel and slippery melody. I like that I wrote it on the lap steel, it was tailor made for it.
This Clinesmith has such a different tone to it than my aluminum Clinesmith. And for the chord work it actually sounds like a guitar to me, not a lap steel. It’s my go to now for the bluesier stuff.

Ear candy! I like that the melody is complex yet memorable. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

Thanks guys. Sometimes it seems like the music just comes out of nowhere and writes itself, but when I think about it, it’s like seeing things that you really worked hard at all of a sudden find their way into your music. It’s a good feeling. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Very cool, Mike! You are right, Doug, about unfamiliar tunings being inspirational for song writing. Those little differences in a tuning are sure fun to mess with. That's what I love about lap steel. I love your almost acoustic tone on that Clinesmith, Mike. So good. |

This tune is so Hillbilly. So great. Is this the #min7 tuning again? |
