I have had my GFI for several months and with the new Alumitone pick up, new Lehle volume pedal, I am the most satisfied with my equipment I have been since I got my first MSA more than 45 years ago.

The Alumitone with the Lehle has opened up the GFI more than I expected. The GFI performs flawlessly and stays in tune much better than me.

Electronic volume pedals add the "final touch" to the sound.

I used to have a Hilton and then later a Telonics, which was sold downsizing (dumb move). I went back to a Goodrich pot volume pedal and my tone sucks compared to the electronic pedals. I never noticed the "tone suck" using pot pedals for 30 plus years until I used an electronic and went back to pot.

The pickup makes a difference, too, but even the highly regarded Lawrence 710 that I have on my GFI (major upgrade from the stock GFI III) cannot overcome the pot volume pedal.

My 2 cents.
