In the process of changing strings, I thought I’d make this comparison video for anyone trying to make a similar decision. Let me know what strings you use!

I tried the NYXL's and the strings seemed "stiff" compared to the George L's (SS) I had been using on a D-10 Franklin. I'm not a fan of color coding the ball ends - took me longer to install compared to individually packaged strings.
I'm now using SIT Sho-Bud gauges (nickel) on my GFI. I tried the Buddy Emmons SS but as that is what came on my new GFI but like the Sho-Bud nickel version better.
With the brighter/cleaner sound of a Quilter amp, compared to Peavey's that I used for years, nickel seems to match up better. |

Thanks for the reply, Jack! I have yet to try the Sho-Bud versions of the SIT strings. _________________ Steels: Mullen G2 D10, 1975 Sho~Bud LDG, Custom "Lefty Steel" made in Missouri
