Here is a studio demo of “Right Or Wrong!" This song will be featured on my next record "Antique Aloha 2: That Hula Jazz." I first fell in love with versions of this song from the greats of Western Swing. However while learning about it I discovered it was older than I thought and versions existed from greats of the Hawaiian Steel guitar such as Sol Hoopii, David Kaili, the Huulea Entertainers and more. So I thought I would make a version of my own!
"Antique Aloha 2:” That Hula Jazz” Special Edition CD PRE-ORDER is now available!
I'm soliciting your advanced purchases now to help me finish the final steps. Your PRE-ORDER purchase helps me push past the financial hurdles of licensing, music mastering, and physical production to finish Antique Aloha 2.

For my third solo multitrack project I've decided to return to the Antique Aloha repertoire and further explore that musical landscape. This time I'm really leaning into the Jazz, Vaudeville, and Novelty side of the repertoire even further. Of course the steel guitar will take center stage but I intend to feature a lot more solo ukulele than I did on the first Antique Aloha issue. And I may even include a guitar solo or two. Once again I'll play all the instruments that you'll hear on the album![/url] _________________ Christo Ruppenthal - https://christoruppenthal.com/

Great stuff Christo. The world needs players like you. I cant think of many players who are recording this style of music on original instruments. I am always listening to your other albums. Excellent! |

A kinda funny aside, I read the title initially as
"Right Or Wrong Christo Ruppenthal NOT Hawaiian Jazz Steel"
And I immediately thought we were transported back to the early 2000s archives of this forum where people would have HEATED arguments over what was truly Hawaiian style guitar (see the Jerry Byrd threads, things got spicy lol). I blame my recent studying of Cyrillic, where H makes the N sound.
Great job and good luck with the release! _________________ Waikīkī, at night when the shadows are falling
