I've decided I could live without my third neck and I'm wondering how much weight I'll get rid of if I buy a D-8 instead. I think my T-8 is 44 lbs. in the case. Can anyone help me out with this?

I realize it's a money-losing proposition as a D-8 costs twice as much per neck as my T-8 did just four or five years ago, but it's a lot to tote at this point.

I went from a T8 to a D8 in my "gigging guitar", which I put in quotes because calling them gigs is a little excessive, they were pretty few and far between even before the pandemic...but just a few things to note...the T8 was a Fender, the D8 was a Magnatone, so it wasn't apples to oranges. The bigger aspect of the change was not the weight of the guitar itself (the fender, in its HSC, was a heavy bastard for sure), but the fact that I bought a double rifle case for the Mag D8, and carried it around in that. Could carry it on my back easily, with legs.

Basically to say, a lot of the weight of one of these guitars may be in the original hard shell case, so a good quality replacement gig bag might help make a heavy guitar a little less of a burden to cart around...T8s are not light in any regard, but in its original case that thing made my hand feel like it was coming off...
