Have any of you transfered your Jeff Newman VHF video tapes to CD's?
If so, what preocess did you use?
A few days ago a thunder storm hit my neighborhood here (Houston) and a lighting strike blew out my VCR player and small TV along with a few surge protectors.
My next door neighbor lost all their major appliances, TV and computers. The power company had to replace a number of transformwers in their power line.
I really don't want to reinvest in VHS equipment. |

I've done it. If you want to do it yourself you will need a VHS tape player and a DVD (not CD) recorder (or a combo unit). Any way you go you will need a VHS tape player, Its a slow process as you have to play the tape at regular speed. The DVD must be finalized so it can be played. Don't try to do it with a PC, gets messy.
Other option is to have it done by a company that does that. I see lots of ads for this service.
I had a lightning hit last week. Took out the Spectrum cable DVR and Internet modem. Nothing else was touched. |

Tom,
Give Legacybox.com a shout…they converted many VHS-C tapes for me…quick turnaround….converted tapes to digital….Good luck…Carl
P.S. Not sure how Copyright would be handled? 🤔 |

Thank you "all" for the suggestions.
Checked ebay for a used VHS/DVD player...fairly reasonably priced. It's time to get my course material on a disk...been putting this project off too long! |

You don't want a "DVD Player". you need a "DVD Recorder". |

How much can a used VHS-machine cost? 5 dollars tops? |
