Hope everyone’s doing well.
I’m touring Europe for a month with Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, and my baggage with my pedal steel legs was lost by airlines. I have literally all of my pedal steel and its accessories besides the four legs to stand it up and set everything up (I do have pedal bar and rods).
I am having to play each show lap/console steel style by resting the pedal steel on a table and pretty much playing slide guitar style. Certainly not ideal for a month, especially with specific parts and solos for the songs.
Would any fellow forum members in Europe be willing to lend me some legs to help get through this tour? Whether it’s for one night, multiple nights, or even the whole run, it would be super helpful as I don’t know of many other options at this point (or does anyone know where to purchase some in any of these areas?)
Here’s a list of dates and locations where I’ll be playing:
8/23 London, UK
8/24 Manchester, UK
8/25 Glasgow, UK
8/26 Newcastle upon Tyne, UK
8/27-8/28 Lutterworth, UK
8/31 Berlin, Germany
9/1 Hamburg, Germany
9/2 Altlandsberg, Germany
9/3 Deventer, Netherlands
9/4 Groningen, Netherlands
9/5 Utrecht, Netherlands
9/7 Bilbao, Spain
9/8 Zaragoza, Spain
9/9 Avile’s, Spain
9/10 Madrid, Spain
9/11 Barcelona, Spain
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Had to fly my pedal steel legs in my clothing luggage to keep pedal steel under 70 lbs for flight…can find clothes much easier than pedal steel legs haha.
Thanks so much!

Hello Casey,
I'm a Dutch steelguitar player and saw today your question. I'll have 4 spare steelguitar legs which you may use on your tour.
Years ago I also travelled through Europe and had the same problems as you have with the flight companies. Therefor I asked somebody in my naberhood to make some ultra light steelguitar legs. (they are not ajustable)
Let me now how to handle this.
Regards,
Joost de Nijs |

Hey everyone. I was able to get some pedal steel legs from John Davis in the UK today. He was incredibly helpful and kind, and had a great time meeting him and talking some steel. Truly awesome how supportive the steel guitar community can be, so nice of John and Joost to go out of their way to help.
Hey John, I’m not sure if all steel guitar legs are standard, maybe some other members could chime in? Hope everyone’s doing well, thanks again for the help.

Most (if not all) are 1/2-13 threads, but heights may be different. Some guitars don't use the screw in type, but most professional models do. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
