Hi all!
I've been lurking here for almost half a year now, but I finally decided to join the forum since I bought my first pedal steel on Sunday. I've been playing guitar for 13 years, but switching to the steel feels like I've finally found my instrument.
I can't thank everyone enough for all the valuable information on this forum that has helped me start my journey! I'm on the younger side (25), so one of the things I thought I might be able to contribute back is sharing some of my favorite uses of pedal steel on songs in more recent years.
Here's a link to a playlist I've made that features the steel in subtle, out-of-the-box, or otherwise innovative ways:

If anyone has any suggestions of songs to add to it, I'd love to hear them! |

Nice! Thanks for putting this together.
You asked for more... check out Faye Webster who uses a lot of steel. Songs like Kingston or Right Side of My Neck or Hurts Me Too, etc. Not exactly outside the box, but it is 'current use in indie-pop. ' |

Faye Webster is amazing! I can't believe I forgot to put one of her songs on the playlist. Thank you so much for the recommendation! |
