A gorgeous 1938 all original Rickenbacher Silver Hawaiian lap steel in near mint condition with the exception of a small dent as shown in photos (no split in seam, no crack just a small line of missing chrome). No pitting on the guitar. Looks new as it was in 1938 (we know the date because the inside was stuffed with newspaper from 1938. Buyer will receive a baggie filed with newspaper stuffed inside the guitar!). What a piece of history (Serial # D 1472)!
All electronics have been gone through by Rick Aiello, who also re-maged the horseshoe. Plenty of output and gorgeous tone. Original HS case in good condition.

This guitar has the rare 1.5" horseshoe magnet that produces that famous Rick (with an "h," before they changed the name to Rickenbacker in order to sound less German during WWII). The hollow (now filled with cloth instead of newspaper) brass stamped, chromed body gives the guitar a slightly warmer, fuller tone than the bakelite Ricks, though the re-mag'd pickup has all the power you need. This pre-war Rick can produce sounds from So Hoopii to David Lindley, Jerry Bryd to Larkin Poe. And it looks fantastic!
