The old MSA pedal steels had return springs that are about 2" long, 5/16 outside diameter, and a wire diameter of approximately .050. Where can I buy them? I had no luck with McMaster Carr and MSC.

I haven't dealt with them yet, but researching springs for my ZB, this place seemed good:

almost a dizzying array of options!

I agree with Matt. Century Spring will make your head spin.

Contact the East Providence location. But be prepared if you call or visit. They don't want to hear "About 0.050"" Best to have precise dimensions or show up with the spring.

Century Spring didn`t have an E.P. location? I will take your advice and go looking with the spring in hand. Thank you both for responding.

I replaced all of my return springs on both of my MSA's with slightly lighter ones purchased at Ace Hardware. Much smoother/lighter pulls on the lowers.
