I had not seen this.
Very well done and I'm happy that they used one of my videos to talk about Buddy and Night Life. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables, Goodrich Baby Bloomer and Peavey Nashville 112. I had never heard of this steel player but I do not follow country music artists today. They did a good job on the interview. Personally I would not have put Pete Drake in the top three but he did a lot of session work and does deserve much credit. Lloyd and Buddy I can definitely see at the top. |

Yes this is very good history information. Most people; including Steel guitar players, don't know "Why it's called a Steel Guitar".
Anything played with a "STEEL BAR" in called a "Steel Guitar" then on from there the model it is.
But Actually "DOBRO" is a Brand of Resonator Hawaiian Steel Guitar. As that is actually the first Model of "Hawaiian Steel Guitar"; is the resonator model steel guitar. Then came the "Electric steel guitar" then on from there.
But this is a good tutorial of the history and what phases and historic players and music it went through from then; to NOW.
