I just found out today that my group, the Christopher Woitach Steel Quartet (super imaginative name!), will be playing the 2nd Sunday of each month, starting in September, 7:00 pm - 9:45 pm, at Jo Bar, in Portland, at least till the end of the year.
The musicians in my group are some of Portland’s best, and even enjoy playing my weird little version of San Antonio Rosa… great and patient guys.
But what about August? We will be playing Wednesday August 10 at Jo Bar, and August 20 at Restaurant 503, outside 6-9.
I’m extremely pleased - this group actually exists because the owner of Jo Bar was fascinated by the idea of jazz steel guitar and asked me to put a group together a few years ago. That’s the kind of club owner you want to work for!
Since I can’t wear my glasses when I play steel (the progressive lenses do weird stuff to the way the neck looks), I might not see you if you come, so please come up and say hi!
