I have a friend that lives near Boca Raton Florida that needs some maintenance done on his steel. I would do this for him but I live in Southwest Pennsylvania and it will be inconvenient and costly with the shipping. Some of the strings are not returning to their proper notes. And a couple strings are jumping off of the rollers, they may need cut deeper for the bigger strings he uses. Can anyone help down there? Let me know asap.
Thanks, JR _________________ SLIDE IT ON OVER!

If a name comes up, I'll be delighted to learn who it might be.
I'm in Naples and the days when I'd go to (or through) Nashville on tours are now over. I'd schedule any repairs with Buck Reid or Tyler Hall - both excellent - and relax knowing the guitar was in good hands.
Now I'm 800 miles from any help. Bondz Music in Wildwood, FL apparently do repairs but they require the guitar be shipped to them and for an indeterminate period. That's unacceptable.
It's almost a steel guitar wasteland down here! |

I guess that's why he's willing to ship it to me. _________________ SLIDE IT ON OVER!

Your friend, might want to consider taking his steel
to Billy Knowles, at Steel Guitar East, in Kenansville,
NC. Phone: 910-296-7428.
Billy Knowles, is one of the best and he's a fine
gentleman.
It's a bit of a drag up to NC from here in Central
Florida, but it was worth it, to have my steel
properly repaired.
Regarding Roger's comment about Bondz Music, in
Wildwood, FL. I'd rather drive to NC and Billy
Knowles.

I recently tried to book Billy to work on a 12 string I was thinking of buying.
Billy told me he was three months behind right now. I abandoned the project because Billy Kniwles, Billy Cooper were both too busy. The handful of Nashville guys who do great work (Buck, Tyler and others) are on Summer tours.
It's a problem. I'm currently struggling to make changes on my Emmons. I don't relish it but there's no other choice now. |
