"SHO~BUD" comes from part of the first name of the two starters of it> "SHO"T Jackson and "BUD"DY Emmons. So there is no "SHOW" in their names.

In my opinion its a sacrilege to bugger a perfectly good double ten to make a single. Its something I would never do nor would I buy one that someone else had mangled.

it would be interesting to know how many steelers tote a dbl & how many actully play the C6 neck.

I know several around here that do but it’s their own fault.. if they want to wag around a double and don’t play C6th, they’re either strong enough to no be bothered or to naive to trade or buy a nice single 10 to play. Some may be to attached to the sound of their double to play anything else but don’t take the back neck off, it will be a totally different guitar. Anytime mass is removed, the sound will change probably worse but have heard very few ever say it made them better.
Don’t mean to hijack your sale Johnny, that is a beautiful Bud for sure and I’m sure worth every penny you’re asking. Good luck on sale and sure hope they want a D-10

Way cool Johnie; I know I'm a nerd when it comes to that..ha....and AWESOME work on those D-10's transform to just E9 neck. Some folks LOVE the sound and look and setup/playability of their Current Pedal steel; but NEVER touch the C6 neck, and so why not make your favorite steel single?(no buying another won't be the same as your fav.) IE: What Sho~Bud did for Lloyd back in 1970(he was carrying around to 3 sessions a day; sometimes 3 different studios in 1 day); then eventually built him a SD-10 called the "LDG". But he loved that Sho~bud they took the back neck off and still says today; it was the best sounding sho~bud of all he had.
