The story of Jimmy Dreadfulwater begins down around the
Tribal Headquarters for the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah
Oklahoma where he has spent a lifetime growing up. A
direct descendant of the folks who came across the Trail
Of Tears, Jimmy became an awesome musician who was basic-
ally self taught .

Starting with a hand me down 6 string guitar, eventually
he got introduced to Pedal Steel. Jimmy's quite the tra-
der and he's owned enough Steels to start a small store.
Everything from Sho-Buds,MSA, Mullen, EMCI , Emmons...I
never realized that one guy could buy, sell, giveaway so
many different instruments.

Jimmy puts on a colorful show, choosing to play in a Head
Dress. I personally have worked several dates with him
and he's a real entertainer, possessing a great voice ,
and rapport with the audience...an absolute fun guy to
work with. For a time , Jimmy taught the Cherokee language
at NSU in Tahlequah.

Jimmy will more than likely have Jess French with him on
bass and vocals. Jess is legendary as a singer and preacher
and Pastor of a Baptist church....having an awesome voice
and knowing a thousand songs, he is, most of all just one
heck of a nice guy. Be sure you're there to meet and greet
Jimmy Dreadfulwater and his cousin Jess French at the OSGA
Annual Steel Guitar Show in a short 2 weeks from now in
beautiful Jenks Oklahoma.

Hezekiah 3:1 says "he that tooteth not his own horn, the
same shall not be tooted".......so, we're trying to toot
the horn re: the OSGA. Come join in the fun !!!!

We have seen Jimmy several times at steel shows and he does not disappoint. We enjoy his humor and talent. Jess is a fine singer and solid bass player. Together they bring the thunder to a show.

Jimmy Dreadfulwater and I have been friends for many years. He's a Great Guy, Steel Guitarist, Showmanship par excellence, multi player of instruments, singer, story teller, etc. He has played several of my Annual Steel Guitar Shows and the audiences always enjoy his set. I have Cherokee ancestry and in fact Jimmy's wife and I are distantly related to the same ancestors. I'm honored to call him my Friend!
