Where is the serial number located on a Gibson Console Grande?
Thanks in advance! |

From a post from May 2010:
“I have a GIBSON Console Grande 1958 and my serial number is stamped under neath on the wood. Very hard to see. When the guitar is upside down in it's case the number is over on the right side corner edge. My serial # 9 1405” _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

I don't think the classic Don Helms style Gibson Console Grande guitars, from about 1948-1956, have any serial numbers on them, or only very rarely they might have one. Later Gibson console models might have some sort of marking. |

Thanks, Brooks, I'll look again-with my magnifying glass under a strong light.
I'll take off the bridge plates too, the only places I haven't checked. |
