Dear Mike,
Thank you for sending me a copy of your book.
I'm astonished at the genius of this work. It's making a major impact on my ability to integrate vertical and horizontal movement of single note lines.
Being somewhat new to Steel, I have spent a lot of time learning rote melody/chords off tabs, and writing my own tabs, and that's fine; and I am a lifelong guitar player, thirds and 6ths double stops in the basic western diatonic scale, I can hear. My straights and slants make sense to me now.
But the ability to freestyle - good noodles! -- beyond ruts is a goal I think many of us have and dream of trying to achieve; even in the context of any genre, even if one isn't necessarily trying to approach the jazz idiom. I like americana, folk, blues, etc. This isn't just a "jazz book." No sir. This book is for all of us. Its easy to see you have put your heart and soul into it, and its very generous of you to put this out there at such a nominal fee, given the massive value of this work.
Maybe I will learn some Miles Davis after all!
Wishing you and yours all the best,
Henry

Henry, this means so much to me I can’t tell you. I had to devise my own ways of visualizing the C6 neck so I didn’t get stuck into playing in the same old positions, This is the way I think about things often in addition to a couple of other things I’ve come up with. Problem-solving is a good skill to have when you are getting deeper into the steel.
Thanks again. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

For anyone interested in ordering books, this week I am out of town and will not be able to ship until 8/8. However, if you order between now and then, I will refund shipping (U.S. orders only). _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

I still have a few copies of these books, though I think I am pretty low on the Joaquin book. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Thanks, John. I don't exactly know what you mean when you say "transferred to", but there is a possibility that some links are not working right.
