I need to lighten up my Mullen G2
The factory legs weigh about 10lbs

Light legs don't make a bit of difference to the guitar's sound, but will sure make your case lighter :-}

Aluminum lags will likely save you a total of 4 or 5 pounds. That's noticeable, but not really significant. I'm presently looking into a lightweight case, which might save me almost 10 pounds over my Dell road case.

If you’re flying, it might be significant…
A loaded Legend U12 in an SKB case is 49,5 lbs😀
Aluminum legs standard.

Quick-and-dirty solution:

A keyboard gig bag(61 keys) or large gun case will fit your leg bag and pedal rack. Helps a lot, and it's cheaper than split cases.

I do this using the gig bag from a Martin Backpacker. It indeed splits up the weight, although both are heavy because I throw my VP, cables, and bar bag in with the legs.

Dan,

I have a Mullen SD10 and also a Williams SD12 Extended E9 with light legs. The difference is night and day. I have split cases which makes the Mullen easy to carry around as I use it for gigs. I did not order the Williams with light legs it came that way but thanks to smart design it was a pleasant surprise.
