Hi all - Brand new to this forum, and brand new to PSG as well. It has been soooo helpful reading through various threads and picking up helpful tidbits.
I recently purchased a LDG and I'm wondering if the knob and switches are original to the instrument or not. It looks like at present the pickup is soldered direct to the 1/4" output jack. Does anyone know how I might restore the function of those bits? OR should I even bother?
Thanks!!

You should post a picture of the pickup.
If it's original it "might" have had a coil tap. (hence one of the switches)
But the pot and other switch are probably not stock.
It looks like it was a tone control wired up with a switch to disable it. A nice mod and easy to put back in service. _________________ "To live outside the law you must be honest." (Bob Dylan) |

That is a later year model ldg, and those mini toggle switches and tone knob we're not standard and not original on the later model.
A coil tap switch was standard on the ldg until about 1977 and they got rid of it and I wouldn't mess with it at all, just leave the switches there because otherwise you would have holes in your guitar end plate....yuck
And like Eric asked, let's see what the pickup looks like and is there only a black wire and a red wire coming out of the pickup or is there a white wire somewhere else? So let's see the pickup.

Thanks all. Here's the pickup. There are 3 wires: Red, Black, and a bare silver one.
