I am saddened deeply. He was my teacher in the mid-60's in Los Angeles when I was a bluegrass player. We stayed in touch over the years, although somewhat sporadically. Rest in peace, old friend. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

I got to jam with Roland at a house in the Hollywood hills way back when. I was so proud when he complimented me on 0 banjo solo. He was such a nice guy. I was much too young to go to their local gigs but my mom and her friends use to drive up San Fernando Rd to a bar I think was called the Hitchin Post where they use to play. Such cool memories. Rest in peace my friend. |

I met him in the departure lounge at Dulles Airport and we were able to sit together and talk about bluegrass for the flight to Atlanta. He was a wonderful gentle soul. RIP Roland, the world was a better place with you here. _________________ Bob, small o. |
