It started with my inheriting my mom's Gibson EH-100. I've had it for about 10 years and finally decided on lessons. That has been the challenge. It took quite a while to find someone locally. I am now starting on month 3 with my teacher and since my playing is for my enjoyment only we are moving to song based instruction. Originally he had me in open E tuning but the available tablature is limited. So, 2 weeks ago I restrung the guitar to C6 and we're taking it from there. I have to use a Stevens dobro bar as arthritis has started to take it's toll on my hands. I have to add that I found a VGC Oahu Valco guitar at fair price that I picked up. The sustain with the Valco string through pickup is fantastic. I made up a cord with Switchcraft connectors to keep everything original. I'll never be a frequent poster but do check the forum frequently and enjoy reading others posts.

Welcome to the obsession of a lifetime! I hope you enjoy this instrument as much as I do. The C6 tuning is my favorite for most of the songs I play. That Oahu is a beauty! |
