That sounded cool. The Leslie really adds a special character.

Thanks, y'all! It's a Leslie 18, similar to a vibratone.

Nice!

What are you using for bass pedals?

And how do you tune that Quad (besides "one string at a time Smile ") ?

It's roland midi bass pedals. I get the sound from a microkorg, but I've been looking for a smaller sound module, if anybody has suggestions. My necks right now are B11 (used in that video), A6, C6, and E13.

Ethan,

Try a Alesis NanoPiano. It is small - 5.5" x 4.5". Uses a 9v AC (not DC) wall wart. I have/had one years ago and I can't remember what I did with it (nor can I find it). Not sure what, if any, basses are in it but it's worth a look.

Lots of vids on You Tube.

Is your E13 neck a baritone or regular E13 tune?

Nice, Ethan. I know how hard it is to play bass pedals while playing steel. I started studying classical pedal technique but without being able to use my heels like on the old organs, it was not as easy to get around. I wanted to be like Barbara Dennerlein (yeah, right!). I got a little sidetracked once I started delving deeper into this stuff I'm doing and need the real estate down below for other controllers.

Cool thing I learned about having the MIDI pedals is that I can use them as a key switch controller for certain MIDI instruments that have advanced articulations. I will break them out again one day but now I am wishing I didn't go with the 17 pedal model.
Anyway, that's for another thread on another forum.

Good job!

Haha, yeah, Mike: Barbara Dennerlein level bass pedal skill was a goal of mine, too! (until I, too, lowered my expectations!)Thanks, y'all, and thanks for the recommendation, Tony. It's a high E13 tuning, with a high G#. I used to have a bass tuning on that neck, but now my low tuning is C6, with a low C.
