I ordered a new lap steel from Melbert guitars, and it arrived today.
My first impression was how well it was packed for shipping!
My second was how well it was made and how beautiful it sounds.
From start to finish, this has been an amazing experience.
Thank you Bob!

Congratulations on the new lap steel. I bought a Melbert last year and it was also a wonderful experience for me. Enjoy the tone and good luck.

Bob did a fantastic job. It has Sentell pickups a blend knob and natural finish
It sounds really sweet. Originally a Fender Stringmaster triple T8 There were A LOT of
things for Bob to consider and adapt and fix Bob kept me up to date with emails and he packaged it REALLY WELL

Hey guys, don't spose you could post some pics of your Melberts? Rolling Eyes I have also had one on order for months. A few Melbert pics would help me survive the wait a while longer. Wink

MelbertMaster 10, American cherry with TruOil gunstock finish, 3/8 inch spacing at bridge and nut, Sentell pickup. 3rd knob is a bass roll-off. Bob Allen does great work.

A few photos of the D6-8. Started with only the body and 2 rods. Thanks to Georgeboards for some good advice, Pickguardian for the custom pickup rings, control plates, and the diamonds. Terrapin Guitars for the custom 26" scale fretboards. And those Sentell Stringmaster pickups are the real deal.

Here's mine, Nr 169, purchased used sometime during the pandemic...

I love it, really beautiful wood, I'm guessing it was somebody's barn floor for 200 years, plays and sounds great.
