Hey all

So I mentioned I migrated over to a site instead of a Facebook group.

This is my own self study site where I will share some cool finds. Any questions feel free to ask?

As you know I believe that E13 or any 13th based tuning eg C13 same thing is by far the most universal Lap Steel tuning available however it can become one of the most difficult to master. In this site I hope to share my journey.

I will address basic, intermediate and advanced approaches, voicings, soloing etc. All exercises will have tab and notation.

I also welcome ideas on what to study next. So please get in touch.

My goal is to understand the how and why and MOST importantly get it under my bar and play it. So feel free to follow my journey.

UPDATE: My tuning E13#9/F

I went back to low F (b9) as the m6, mM7, dim7 voicings were too important. I thought I needed the low D# to get Augmented but I realised there is a simple forward slant Augmented in the lower octave already

I just found that one too! Thanks again Stefan, I'll be watching your site. Hopefully I can find more time to practice.

In continuing approaching the lap steel as a triadic instrument:
Decided to add a fun little example of changing the voicing and bass note in E13.

This example shows a CMaj7 changing the bass note and voicing spelling C-E-G-B.
Updated we continue this with C7, Cm7, Cm7b5 chords
enjoy what a fun discovery. How versatile is your tuning? Very Happy
