I have a pedal I think I'd like to list here. Can I ask a couple questions for advice first? In 2010, my son needed a Heil Talkbox for a certain Frampton song he was playing in a School of Rock concert. I asked a good friend in my church worship band about finding one, and his son, a studio session musician, bought one in 1997 for a job, put it back in the box, and it sat on the shelf for 13 years. I bought it from him, my son used it for the concert and rehearsals, and it has been back in its original box, looking like it just came from the factory, for about another 12 years.
I'd like to pick up a good volume pedal at some point, (my son has a Mission expression pedal, the only one I'm even slightly familiar with). I figure I will never use a talkbox with my lap steel, so I'm going to sell it to fund my pedal.
Questions - First, is a Talkbox a pedal that would probably sell/trade here? Or would you just put it on Reverb?
Have trades ever been successful on this forum?
With my Spark 40 having dozens of built in pedals through its modeling app, I'm thinking that's about the only physical pedal I could ever need. Is there any other accessory that will make my lap steel more versatile (without hurting its value) as I improve? I was thinking maybe a pair of those string bender jobbers. Is there a certain brand to consider, or to avoid?
I've sold plenty on ebay, but this would be a first for a forum.
Thanks. |

You might be able to sell it here, but it might take a long time. Selling on Reverb or Ebay might be quicker. Trades happen here quite often. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Knowing what kind of a lap steel you have and maybe even a picture would help us to recommend a string bender device. Certano benders are the smallest footprint that I found. They fit in just about any space on a lap steel and they are very high-quality construction. I use them on two of my Supros and they fit perfectly.
I’d list that Talkbox on both here and Reverb/ eBay. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

It was advertised as a Dan Armstrong LSG-TRY-CRM. It's a copy of a Gibson BR2 (circa early '40s?) Mine has no pickup cover, and the single coil has been removed, the body routed for a HB.
I'm not home right now, so the second pic is what she used to surprise me with it. The first, from the Reverb ad.

I have a couple of Ernie Ball pedals. The newer one has a new string.
