Is anyone out there familiar with the Fender FE1000 tape echo chamber? Are these about like the EchoPlex? Are these sought after at all? A high end retro collectible item? Thanks for any input.

If it works, you might get a few hundred (book says $250-$350). They were made by Echo-Fonic, and popular in the '60s and '70s. I have the older "cube" model, while yours is a later "slant-front" type. New tapes are still available, and they can be replaced, but only if you're handy with mechanical things. |

I had one briefly that I lucked into locally about 15 years ago. Non functional, internals were coated in dissolved foam goo. Even after heads were cleaned I think it was still goofed up. Sold it on eBay to some guy in Italy that wanted some headache in his life. _________________ Excel Superb D10, Sarno Black Box or Freeloader, Goodrich L120, Boss DD5, Baby Bloomer, 1965 Super Reverb chopped to a head, feeding a mystery PA cab w/ a K130.
They say "thats how it goes". I say "that ain't the way it stays!" |
