I have a Katana mk2 100 watt that I use with pedal steel on occasion. For my use I never bonded with it completely. The tones are not bad and usable but never completely sold me on regular use. The good thing is it's lightweight and will do the job.

Thanks for this post....I am contiplating buying a mk2 100 and am not, at present, 100% convinced.

Will be trying one out in the near future but it may not be on pedal steel.

I would be using it on a BMI S10...any input on that arrangement?

Sam

I was probably the last person here to purchase one, but its not for Steel. Its a 50 watt MK II . Its a fine little amp for my purpose which is for lightweight, small footprint , low volume gigs on guitar. I do use it now and then for Steel practice and its ok , I only use it in the CLEAN mode with Reverb. I do not use any of the programmed effects chains.

I don't think this amp actually puts out 50 useable watts or anything near that, especially in the clean mode.

Doesn't matter, for my purpose its fine. I paid $160 for it used at GC, it fits my current need . Very Happy

Samuel, yes I also have a BMI S10 along with a few others. I tried it on all and still maintain my post. It's ok but not my favorite. Now I haven't tried a speaker swap or even another cabinet, so that might be the answer. It's fine for 6 string guitar as is. I did try the return jack using a outside preamp and separate effects devices. Still no joy for pedal steel.
