An absolutely rare and gorgeous piece, this Slingerland lap steel has tone to die for.
Looking for trades, or possibly for sale also just seeing what's out there- anything steel related (lap or pedal), semi-hollow guitars, etc.
When I acquired this, I was told this was from the gentleman's grandmother, and she claimed (I have nothing to prove this/back this up), that this is the first Electric Guitar ever brought into the state of Michigan.
Who knows if that's true, but a sweet guitar nonetheless!
Apparently the 3 holes drilled out in the headstock were for use with a home made stand, which apparently was destroyed many years before.
Some original binding missing.
This steel just got back from getting a new jack, some binding glued up, a tuner fix and it's all ready to rock!
Features some rare vintage Grover tuners!
Gorgeous body, Slingerland plate, look at the flame on the back!!
Currently in E7 tuning (low to high B-D-E-G#-B-E)
The third string E has a slightly lower output than the rest, I believe it's adjustable from the bottom, apparently each string has a coil.
Ships in a Fender soft gig bag.
