Anybody got any thoughts or experiences of electronic tuning systems for guitars. I noticed Gibson was selling these a few years ago. Tronical appear to be marketing these. https://www.tronicaltune.com/. I cant help but feel very sceptical about the ruggedness or reliability of these product, but I like the idea for a single neck 6 string guitar which you can retune using the same string set. Just thinking, C6, C6/A7, A6, B11, D9 etc. Interesting concept for lap steel guitars. I just feel that the tuners will not be reliable....and as for batteries!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a 2015 Les Paul Special that had these. I hated them. They just didn't go to pitch anywhere near accurately enough for me. And when I tried to tune them manually, I was fighting the motor. I've seen a bunch of these guitars in the aftermarket, and every one had had them taken off and replaced with Grovers. I'm pretty sure Gibson dumped them after one year. A failed experiment, IMO.

I guess there's a 'new generation' of these. I think I'll pass. Another "solution in search of a problem". Again, IMO.
