Hi,

I play a GFI D10 with a Barcus Berry Pickup that I have owned for 15 - 20 years. Bought this from our departed friend in Nashville Mr. Bobbie Seymour and just love to play it (Not too good though).

Just curious as to what you dedicated and excellent folks may feel/comment/advise about the PU. Should I replace it with something else?

I feel happy as I am a "Home Musician" however, now and then I wonder if my mind or tastes are just too old/slow!

Look forward to your comments and advice.

Ashley

I've had several GFI's and with GFI II and GFI III pickups. Of the two I like the II better. I had a used Ultra that had a George L's E66 on the E9th and stock GFI II on C6th. I didn't like the E66 so I replaced both (to make them the same) with lawrence 710's - a big improvement to my ears. The GFI Ultra I have now came with a GFI III pickup and seems too bassy for me and it will get replaced by a Lawrence 710, the sound i'm used to.
