I have a little amp from 1983 but no footswitch. Are these footswitches interchangeable ? |

If it has a 1/4" plug, it should be interchangable.
It should be an on/off type footswitch, NOT a momentary type. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables, Goodrich Baby Bloomer and Peavey Nashville 112. Can't get much sweeter. |

What's the jack type is the question. Some PV's have a multi-pin DIN type of connector requiring a specific type of pedal (such as the one that I lent out to a local bozo who then disappeared). |

If you're talking the original Backstage - I think they ranged early to mid 80s - here's the manual - https://peavey.com/manuals/80361042.pdf - the rest of the Backstage manuals are here - https://peavey.com/c/Archived-Manuals-B
I use one of the original Backstage amps currently as my rehearsal amp - I leave it at the rehearsal space. As the manual states, it needs a TRS (stereo) 1/4" plug. The Tip and Ring control the switching of the Saturation and Reverb Effects - I forget which controls which, but the switch I use isn't labeled correctly either. Actually, what's on it right now is a switch for a Marshall.
I have a Backstage Plus that I leave in Nashville for when I'm down there. And Studio Pro 40 and 50 amps also - the switching is the same on all of them. Great little amps. My favorites of all the smaller Peaveys. |
