C6 tuning, low strings don't fit

Hi,
I have a Sierra double 10 string. I'm putting a new set of strings, D'Addario Pro Steel 12-70, on the C6 neck and I'm finding that the two lowest strings .070 and .054 don't fit into the ball end seats.

Anybody else run into this? Any thoughts on what to do?

When I had this problem on my Super Pro, I just flattened the windings in a bench vise. It worked for me, but there might be a better solution out there haha

Thanks, I just tried taking a couple winds off and that gave me enough room to fit them.
