I tried one and didn't like it. Great for Telecaster and twang.
Travis Toy 12 or Telonics 12 for steel.
The 15" EPS-15C is great but my take they missed the boat for steel with the EPS12. |

I have no issues with the 12c. I use two of them in separate cabinets. Powered by a Quilter 201 and preamped by a Boss 59 Bassman pedal. 1975 maple body U-12 MSA with a 12X Telonics pickup. Best tone I've ever had. I've worked next to the same lead guitar player intermittently for the past 45 years. He said, it's the best tone he's heard. I was using the 15c prior to the 12c and I'm getting a better low end tone with the 12c. Tighter low end tone. The guitar player has always used 15's in his amps, but was amazed at the overall tone of the 12c's. I'm getting as close to an Emmons push/pull tone as possible without actually playing a p/p. The 12c isn't being made anymore, but there may be a few new ones on the shelf somewhere.
12c is a steel guitar speaker.

Also, the 12c is a 4 ohm speaker. I think the TT12 is 8 ohm.

| I had a discussion with a person, in Nashville, who did some testing for Eminence. They intended to copy a Peavey 1203-4 speaker, that was used in the Nashville 112 speaker cabinet (like Jeff Newman used). But copied a Peavey 1201 speaker, which is a P.A. speaker. |

I put one in my Nashville 112 2 years ago and I like it.
What one person likes and another does not is why we don't all look alike, sound alike etc. We all hear sound differently.
Some like PP Emmons, some like the LDG ShoBud, some like Mullens, and I could go on and name them all.
My advice is, it is not so much the speaker, but how you set your amp up for the different acoustics in the room or hall you are playing in.

I also have four 1501 BW speakers. All from different years and have different magnets. Each one sounds a little different. I have two identical 15 cabinets and have compared each one individually side by side. My favorite one is the flat magnet with the spider web print.
If I recall, the 1201 and 1203 have an aluminum dust cover? I'm sure the 1503 had an aluminum dust cover. I had 1503's in my old SP-2's. The Eminence 12c has a paper/cardboard dust cover.

Bobby, you can also compare the graphs (specs) on each speaker to compare their tonal characteristics.
