Check out this video of Joaquin picking harmonics at the 1:55 mark.He's not playing live but is basically showing how he does it. He is using his thumb to pick the note and using his third fingertip to sound the harmonic......very clever, I've never seen anyone do it that way. Something new to learn.

I use the tip of my little finger, though not as well as he does it. Wow!

I find it to be a much more reliable way to get extra "natural" harmonics (I never know what to call these) - e.g. bar on 7th, harmonics at 12th and 14th frets.

It seems like some Hawaiian players are comfortable to do this with the palm rather than finger, but I don't have the accuracy down if the distance between my hands is closer than 12 frets.

However, watching Joaquin tickle those strings takes my breath away!
