I have a friend who just purchased a console guitar and he's wondering what string gauges he should use to get the most out of his steel. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Another part of the answer, it will depend on what six-string tunings your friend wishes to use

I had one of those with the changers, never got it going with the changers but it was a great guitar. I would do open E or A on one neck and a more Hawaiian sounding tuning on the other, C6, A6, or B11 for me.
They sell string sets for these tunings.

Thanks Glenn, I’m heading over to my buddy’s house tomorrow. We may try that
