Hi, can anyone tell me what type of pickup this is. It is a widemount that came out of a Carter I bought. Looks like the corners were trimmed a bit to get it to fit in the Carter. I use 710s in my guitars and want to sell this one but I have no idea what it is .
Thanks in advance .

Looks to be Emmons single coil. Are you able to check the ohms?

Hi David, 19 ohms
I just sold an Emmons single coil and it looks slightly different.

That looks exactly like my Wallace TT-10. I measured mine and it was about 17.5K ohms. Are you sure it's 19 ohms, not 19k? 19 sounds like the winding is shorted.

Great pick up. They sell used for about a buck.

Not a TrueTone. Looks like a Mullen G2 pickup.

Definitely not a Tru-Tone. Jerry’s pickups had white circles around the magnets and larger stripes around the plates. Many Emmons pickups had metal outer casing on the wires, but I’ve had some that didn’t. My good friend Jerry brings up Mullen pickups, which is possible. But I’ve never seen a Mullen pickup wound less than 22K range and the rosin was visible on the bottom in the few I’ve had. Old BMI single coils looked similar as well but without the white striping. I’ve had quite a few Emmons single coils and and just my opinion this is one and the DC ohms is in line with the ones I’ve had although some early push pull single coils were in the 15K range.
Dave 🙂

I'm judging by the looks of the top plate with the white lam visible at the pole pieces.

Mullen wound pickups in several values for different applications and requests. 19K ohms is not an unusual spec for Mullen.

One of my D10 Mullen gutars pups measured 17.5K ohms.

I have to agree with Jerry. One of the things I noticed is that the mounting holes on yours are round. The Wallace are wider (not oval, but whatever the term is) to allow lateral movement.

Also, the magnets are smaller. Mullen used smaller magnets than Emmons/Truetones.

Though I haven’t seen very many, there’s a possibility that it could be a Williams. I think they used to wind their own.

Thanks Dean, Thanks for the insight. I just found out The gentleman that I bought the Carter from use to own a Mullen. I think you had the right idea about it being a Mullen pickup.
Thanks again!
