Bought them, tried them, sent them back. To me they sounded dead compared to metal picks. JMO _________________ Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, one 1953 Alamo Lap steel, Roland Cube, Fender Champion 40 |

The freedom picks are supposed to go OVER your fingernail unlike standard metal finger picks.
I use them for frailing banjo never tried them on steel. |

I'd like to see an over the nail style pick in steel instead of plastic. I've seen standard steel picks flipped around so that the picking part is over the nail but the geometry is not the same as the freedom pick. |

They looked interesting enough for me to try. I ordered 3 delrin and 3 poly. I’ll report back once I’ve had a chance to try them.
Link is here for anyone who might be interested (no affiliation)

I like the Fred Kelly finger picks. The white ones
On weissenborns I play, they warm up the sound over metal picks (I favor the Perfect Touch finger picks)
But… I wear them upside down - more like typical metal finger picks - with the picking surface covering the finger pad vs the finger nails. I’ve always felt the finger tips (vs fingernails) are my picking surface. I can ‘grip’ chords better that way.
Anyway, give it a try for kicks _________________ Larry Pogreba Baritone 'Weissenheimer

What a waste of $12!Now I've got to think of what I can use them for. Ordered med.,figured if they were too small I could heat and open them up a little.I did it to one,and it fit a little better but still not usable.
So I will be modding and MacGyvering

Mine arrived a few days ago. I like the over-the-nail idea, but the darn thing sits right at the quick of my nail and starts to hurt after a few minutes. They also work alright worn like normal finger picks, but they are no better than any others.
I may also try modding them a bit to see if I can make them more comfortable. I think I’d like using them quite a bit if I can reposition them a bit. _________________ Current Tunings:
