Hi everybody,
just ordered my first PSG, a Brisco Bud, from Steel Guitars Canada.
It will take some time to travel to my home in France, but I'm very excited.
Also the buying process with Nathan Gray was a real pleasure.
Waiting for the door bell, now _________________ Ti' Pierre from France. Dobro, lap steel guitar, mandolin. |

Congrats, great choice.
I haven't ordered a steel from Al but i've gotten a few care packages full of bell cranks, pull rods, Jeff Newman CD and DVD's, they always make ma happy.
And when you tune your first steel and hit a chord and AB for the first time, your eyes will get big and it's... truly a new chapter in your life. _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

Tucker Jackson and Gene Tani, thank you and yes, I expect much fun
I play other instruments but I think PSG has something very special and I want the taste of it.
Have you guys been a long time playing pedal steel guitar ? _________________ Ti' Pierre from France. Dobro, lap steel guitar, mandolin. |

Pierre, Welcome to the madness! I started in 1973 and have played with many bands over the years. It is a life long learning process and lots of fun. I visited Paris when I was in the service in 1970, went to the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame. Hope you enjoy your new guitar when it arrives. |

Hi everybody,
I' did not post since August because my (first) pedal steel guitar, a Brisco Bud, got stuck "somewhere" in the French postal service, without notification and... they decided to send it back to Canada, so it crossed the ocean once again!
Nathan Gray handled this trouble with skill and perfection, keeping me posted every time needed and, after a third ocean crossing I just received my guitar this morning.
I'm a newbie on PSG, but already a musician. I find this instrument really well thought and made. I was afraid of a difficult first setting up but I was wrong, everything is easy.
Just want to say thank you all for your welcoming messages, and say that Nathan Gray is really a great guy
Ti' Pierre

Bon Jour Pierre, Congratulations on your first Pedal Steel Guitar.
Now the adventure starts, A Mel Bay E9th Steel guitar chord chart will allow you to transpose 6 string guitar knowledge to the steel guitar neck. BOB has them here in the instruction section of the Forum Store.
It shows chords, How to use Bar, Pedals and Knee levers and which strings to pick to achieve the chord.
Good Luck in the adventure and Happy Steelin. bj |

Bonjour, Ti' Pierre:
You look very natural, sitting there at the steel.
Yes, players in France are few--but you have one of the best, and most adventuresome: Lionel Wendling.
I am sure that you know this site:

Hi (bonjour!) Pierre,
Nice to see someone in France and getting started.
I am also in France, much of the time at least, down in Marseille. Curious if you might be in this part of the country?
Dylan
p.s. oui, le French "postal service", much similar stories when ordering from the US/Canada _________________ does it look like it fits on my lap? |
