PG Music released the 2022 edition of Band-in-a-Box for Windows today (Dec. 01, 2021). RealBand and the Plugin do not have many new features this year however PG Music has released a BUNCH of new content (mainly RealTracks and MIDI SuperTracks) and concentrated on Band-in-a-Box or BiaB for short.
Some features some of you may find interesting include:
Playalong Hi-Q MIDI patches. PG Music sampled some of the RealTrack instruments and made high quality MIDI instruments. So if you want a RealTrack to play a specific riff or musical phrase and the RealTrack has a matching Playalong patch you can edit the underlying MIDI.
All tracks equal. Band-in-a-Box now has a total of 24 tracks available for use.
Four chords per beat. Band-in-a-Box has always been limited to four chords per bar. Four chords per beat is now possible so you can have a chord on every 16th note.
MicroChords. For some time Band-in-a-Box has had slash chords to help with bass runs. Now you can have a chord each 16th note, designate which instruments follow the main chord and which follows the MicroChords.
There's more. I got it earlier today and am still learning what's new.
