Well, I was lucky enough to acquire this steel last week, and I have to say, I am quite pleased I did.
It is a push/pull build in the tradition of an Emmons, with some metric differences in the parts. It is very well made, and has the unique look of no trim on the front cabinet.
The guitar sets up as any Emmons p/p does, and sounds great. I also found out that it is the only S-10 Promat here in the US.
I would like to send my respect to the builder (RIP) Mr. Papic, for building such a fine instrument.

yes, there was only 28 Promats ever built , there is about 3-4 D10s here in US, and only one S-10 , and that would be this one … and it looks brand new too… they were built by Mr. Dušan Papić in Novi Sad , Serbia… Mr. Papic had degree in engineering, and was a head of an engineering department in one of the the biggest corporations in the country … every guitar was built with 20+ year old , naturally dried maple , and with a huge attention to every detail … it took one year for him to build a guitar … Promats were selling mostly in Europe at original price for D10 of €6000.00 … Bobbe Seymour was a huge fan of this guitars , and good friend if Mr. Papić … one time Bobbe told me, Promats had a better push pull tone than Emmons push pull … I was wondering who’s gonna end up with this one , because asking price was way under what this instrument is worth …

| Looks really nice Mike. I have a Promat D10 and there is not one thing I can complain about with it. I've played quite a few Push Pulls but the one I have tops them all in pedal action smoothness. Damir is right about the abilities of Mr Papic. I never met him face-to-face but we became good friends though our conversations and I learned so much from him about pedal steel materials and mechanics. One word of caution, a lot of that guitar is made from a particular very hard Stainless Steel. It will melt drill bits. Hope yours brings you a lot of pleasure playing. |

Thanks for the information Damir and David.
I don't plan on doing any retro-fitting, so I shouldn't burn up any drill bits... well not yet 
But one day I may add a vertical if possible, or a 4th pedal.
I am guessing the C6th neck on a D-10 has similar tonal characteristics as an Emmons p/p? |

Really liking this Promat, since this post I wired up a switch to drop the 705 to a single coil when desired. Sounds great, about 10K, really can hear the tone of this steel with this setting.
Fine guitar, played 2 jobs with it and it sounded stellar.
