Do you split your practice time between pedal and lap steel or do you just focus on just one type of steel guitar?

I split my practice time between banjo, dobro, guitar, lap steel and pedal steel, probably pedal steel gets the most attention.

I split between guitar, lap steel and pedal steel. Pedal steel gets the most these days.

Over the course of a year or two, guitar, slide guitar, pedal steel, and non-pedal steel get pretty equal time. Not necessarily on a day-to-day basis, but I go through phases where I emphasize one more than the others. For me, a certain level of focused intensity is required to get anywhere. I also hit plateaus on a particular instrument periodically, so moving over to something else seems to be more efficient for me. I also sometimes find that techniques from one instrument rub off on the others.
