Lighting bring out the subject of the picture, And by letting the background disappear are so the subject catches ones eye, Are the first thing taught in photography classes.

I too like the way you play around with the lighting, highlighting some and letting other parts fade.
Damir there's a lot of good info about photography on the Web. Check out Ken Rockwell's site. But you have learned how to use selective focus, as in the photo that Mike points out. The bigger the 'hole in the lens', the shorter the depth of field. That lets you throw stuff behind your main subject (here, the changer/pickup/Emmons logo) out of focus.
