Beautiful amp. Not for nothing, but it is a vibrOsonic not a vibrAsonic. VibrO's are 1 15", VibrA's are 2 10". In the silverface era, at least. _________________ '02 Carter S-12 uni

I had one recently - even with new caps, resistors and wiring and an overall "clean up" that I paid for, I found it very difficult to get much more than $1,000 for it ($1,200 at most). It was a '76 model with the JBL D-130 and like new when I sold it.
Sounded great, but heavy. |

What Joe said.
The heavier amps aren’t selling as easily as they used to. But, it just takes one person to fall in love with it.
I’d price it closer to a grand , assuming everything works well. If you had any paperwork of recent tuneups or tubes, etc, you’d have a bit more leverage to ask more.
Most who buy an amp like this usually expect to pay a bit in bringing it up to peak performance.
A great steel amp. Best of luck with the sale. |

They're all vibro. Vibrolux is a 2x10. Vibrosonic is 1x15. |

The VibrAsonic was the brown tolex predecessor to this amp. Generally a JBL 15", two 6L6 tubes, 40 watts. The Vibrolux had nothing to do with this series.
But Bill's amp is clearly a VibrOsonic. 4 6L6s,allegedly 100 watts. And that D-130F in an orange frame is almost certainly factory original.
Cool amp. Thought by some to be the best pedal steel amp ever.
To confuse matters further, there was in fact a "Custom Vibrasonic" in the 90's which had far more in common with the "Osonic" than it did with its namesake. |

These are great amps - but I highly recommend having a new cabinet made. I did and it made mine my favourite amp - a pine cabinet sounds much better than the pressboard and takes quite a few pounds off. Worth it if you love these amps. _________________ Mostly Pre-1970 guitars. |

I have the exact same amp with orange JBL and it was $750.
I used it last night on a gig and it sounded great! |

With a pine cabinet and a neo speaker mine weighs 63#. Heavy, but worth it! 😀 |
