Do "small press" guitar builders duplicate finishes on their guitars? I'm only asking because on a Duane Marrs memorial facebook page it shows him playing this:
Which looks an awful lot like this guitar I purchased a bit ago on this forum
Is that the same guitar or would Marrs have built a few with this same finish? |

Looks like yours but I see a few differences.
1) Yours neck on the changer end has sharp corners.
2) The wraparound part of the end plate on the changer end,
wraps around farther and corners look rounded.
3) The Star that comes down from the word Marrs on his
guitar, has a hollow center.
BTW, How do you like your Marrs? Do they have a 3/3
changer? RP _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

It IS a 3/3 changer. And I love it.
I was originally frustrated because I couldn’t get her to tune in any playable way whatsoever. But I discovered “Overtuning†and once I reset everything and got myself out of that cycle it’s been smooth as butter. |

I associate that finish with the Marrs brand.

Google search doesn’t bring many examples up. But searching the forum For Sale section I haven’t seen another Marrs like it. |

This was on my bench 6 months ago.
I'm guessing that allowing for different lighting, this is the same color.

FWIW, a sheet of mica covers a lot of guitars. I drop-shipped a special order 4'× 8' sheet of Wilsonart to Carter Guitars in 2002. At the St Louis Show, there was a demo made out of "my" mica ! |

At the risk of being pedantic I don’t think they’re the same color at all. But I’’m sure the last thing this forum needs is debates over color mirroring those of tone/pickups/amps |

Since you have your guitar there and can view it in any & all lighting conditions, you have the authority on this question. I stand corrected. |

Yes. There's a black one in the for sale section.
