This is a 1954 Fender Stringmaster Quad Neck Steel Guitar, 26 inch scale, serial number 220. 8 strings per neck. She plays and sounds amazing! The tone is to die for. All original parts, legs, and case. Pretty clean overall, a few scrapes and nicks here and there. 2 of the 32 tuning gears are not functioning properly and need to be repaired or replaced. It appears that's it's not a difficult fix, I just had enough fun with the 30 other strings and never did it. At one point, someone added a mechanism to make 2 of the necks a pedal steel, so there are a few non-visible holes in the underside, and two of the tuning pans have a hole drilled in to accommodate. The 4th neck is missing 1 of the 2 pickups. It doesn't seem to affect the sound much though. I currently have that neck set up with 4 light gauge flat wound bass strings, and it sounds great! Finally, there are 2 aftermarket switches added, one can be depressed and released rapidly to create a tremolo sound, the second switch doesn't seem to do much. Those can be easily removed.
$1,950. Only considering local (SF BAY AREA) sale for now. Not interested in trades EXCEPT possibly for a high end squareneck resonator WITH a good built in pickup. Thanks! Peter
