Who sells 11PG reinforced strings anymore? I've been using 12s on pedal steel forever, but I want these 11 reinforced strings for a guitar bender.

I know Malcolm used to have these but I haven't talked to him in a while.

I see b0b has singles, but I don't see anything marked as PG or reinforced in gauge 11.

Hi Jerry,
Here's a post by b0b talking about the steel guitar strings he sells. About 12 ga or 17 ga but I think he probably stocks 11 ga also.

Best,
Greg

I recall that GHS made an 11 gauge single that was a reinforced string. I don't know whether they are still making it, but if they are, I would like to get a few.

$0.78 ea. Shipping is pretty much a flat rate, so it behooves you to buy a bunch of stuff at once.

Appreciate all the tips so far. Thanks.

I don't see an order form on Frenchy's website, so do you just phone call to place orders? And looks like there is a $20 minimum order and I'm cheap so....

Jerry, go to one of your local music stores, preferably a Mom and Pop shop, that sells GHS strings and have them order some single 11PG's. I'm sure they'd love the business and will give you a competitive price. I'm glad to hear they are still making them.

Have you checked with b0b yet?

His ordering system is very easy to use.

You pay through PayPal even if (like me) you don't have a PayPal account.

No Lee, I haven't actually contacted him but I'm not seeing anything labeled as 11PG. I see the D'Add and the GHS cryos are listed in gauge 11 though. I may decide to try one of those. He's out of stock in some of the other options.

Yes, I've ordered product from him before so I'm familiar with the procedure and I like supporting the forum too.

I'm still poking around though.

I also found some D'Addario super light Vibrato sets on Amazon that are reinforced and have solder twists and some .011 singles of the same but holy mackerel 8 and 9 bucks ea. I think the company has discontiued all those now.

GHS makes a special .011 string for pedal steel. It's the .011PG. There's also a .017PG. If you order either of those gauges from the Forum Store, that's what you'll get. I don't even stock the non-PG strings.

When you buy a GHS .011 from the Forum Store, it's always a .011PG. Same with the .017 - it's a .017PG.

Thank You, I understand. I had not seen that message prior and did not see anything listed on the string page to indicate that all 11s and 17s were reinforced.

Anyway, the first link you posted for the std. GHS plain strings shows .011 not available.

Your cryo and nyxl do list an 11 ga.

When you open the plain strings page in the store that shows the 4 or 5 choices, the initial listing only shows the gauges. I did not realize you have to click on the individual gauges to see the properties.
I will be looking to order some in the near future though. Thanks.

I like to buy my strings from the Steel Guitar Forum Store. b0b has a lot of strings and other items there, and I like to support the forum. Even if someone else has a cheaper price, I like to buy here because supporting the forum is a good thing. The forum is a valuable resource for me, and this is a way of paying it forward.
