Has anyone converted their D10 so that one E9 neck is standard and another is a "custom" E9 configuration? |

Paul Franklin has/had a triple neck with the 3rd neck identical to his E9 but an octave lower. I'd love to try that out _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

I currently have a late 60s Bud Xover(6+2) with the back neck set up Mooney style E9. It didn’t make it any lighter!! _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

Sort of in the ballpark... My U-12 has an A pedal whole-step raise on the 12th string and a B pedal half-step raise on the 10th string, which is pretty much your basic E9 an octave lower. At home it's great for noodling around, although I gotta watch it with the big deep chords on stage, just a low bass note every once in awhile to punch up the high chords. Also works real well for a little faux-baritone guitar here and there. |

Hello Jeff,
I did something kinda close. Made the decision that C6th was not in the cards. Love the E9th tuning and I hated to see those 5 pedals go to waste. Also, wanted to get into the lower registers. Being a bass player by trade, that seemed to make sense and love the chords/licks that live in these lower registers.
So, I developed a E7th tuning that incorporates the A and B pedal and the E to F Lever and the E to D# lever from the E9th tuning. You will see the A and B pedals and that the E Levers are on the right knee, as opposed to the left on the E9th/front neck.
I was able to quickly take knowledge from the front E9th neck and apply to the back E7th neck. Did this on my 1996 Emmons LeGrande II. Some trial and error but overall pretty easy and painless. Love this tuning, goes down to the bass players A when P5 is engaged. Great for big full low chords.
