Clint came in that day breathing fire and he definitely solos with a power, bright tone and directness that brings to mind Hank Garland's jazz records. Morrell's steel playing is equally impressive and his flow and blocking on the single note stuff is awe-inspiring.

Scroll down for link to the the whole session.

That's great. Been trying to track this one down. Shame they're not all available on the various music sites (Apple, Spotify, Amazon, etc).

BTW, does anyone know.......did Tom play ALL non-pedal on all these Time Warp Top Hands albums?

Jim- I think Tommy played his 59 Sho Bud pedal steel on the first Tophand record? Maybe even the second album? He and Koefer on the first one.. I can’t recall on the second who was on there maybe Koefer and Bob White? I have said it many times: Morrell should have been a solo act on the Tonight Show! A fantastic musician for sure!

Tom Morrell and the TWTH. Absolute Treasures. I think I have them all. If you can find them, add them to your library.

Pterodactyl Ptales #4 is just an absolute work of art.
I like how they westernize the titles such as Moo-sette for Bluesette, It had to be Ewe, etc.

All the cuts are great, but if you can, check out "I can't Give you anything but Love". Tom strings together endless notes and phrases that will leave you wondering how it's even possible.
